Welcome to the Community Development Department.
The Kelso Community Development Department treats
its customers with respect and professionalism. The Department has the overall responsibility of assuring the proper planning and development of high quality residential and business neighborhoods, as well as planning for a comprehensive system of open spaces and other enhancements to the City's image. The Department provides "one stop shopping" for residents and businesses by consolidating the building, project review, permitting, and inspection functions within one City department. Our overall mission is to continue to improve the quality of life for Kelso citizens.
The department is responsible for all annexations, zoning, environmental, shoreline, and critical areas reviews as well as subdivisions and building permits. The department also works to eliminate substandard housing issues and nuisances that directly impact quality of life.
